- Working Days: 5 days a week
- Days Off: Saturday and Sunday
- Work Location: Fully remote – you can work from anywhere
- Salary Range: 2,500 -3,000$ per month
Company Overview
The company is a fast-growing, US-based, direct-to-consumer ecommerce business operating in the men's supplements, health, and wellness industry. The business has reached eight figures in revenue, with ambitions to grow toward nine figures.
Its business model combines new customer acquisition with recurring subscription orders, product launches, bundles, and promotional gifts. The company operates a growing ecommerce business and places strong emphasis on operational efficiency, customer experience, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.
You'll find a culture built around ownership, accountability, speed, and high standards. The team values clear communication, proactive problem-solving, commercial thinking, and measurable results. If you enjoy building efficient supply chain operations, negotiating better supplier and shipping terms, and taking ownership of inventory, procurement, and fulfillment, this is a role where your work will have a direct impact on the company's growth and profitability.
Mission
We're hiring a Supply Chain Manager to own and optimize the company's end-to-end supply chain operations, covering demand forecasting, procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, freight, and fulfillment.
Your mission is to reduce product, freight, and fulfillment costs while improving shipping speed, reliability, and product availability. You'll be responsible for identifying better suppliers, negotiating more competitive rates, optimizing shipping routes, improving inventory planning, and ensuring products are available when customers need them.
You'll own the operational processes that connect sales demand with purchasing, production, warehousing, and customer delivery. This includes managing supplier relationships, maintaining accurate inventory forecasts, coordinating production schedules, monitoring shipping performance, and identifying opportunities to reduce landed costs.
This is a highly hands-on role. You'll be expected to independently analyze supply chain data, identify inefficiencies, negotiate with suppliers and logistics partners, implement improvements, and verify the financial and operational impact of your decisions.
If you're commercially minded, analytical, experienced in DTC ecommerce supply chains, and capable of turning operational problems into measurable cost savings and better delivery performance, you'll feel right at home.
You'll work closely with the founder and commercial teams, taking ownership of supply chain decisions and ensuring that every improvement translates into measurable savings, stronger operational performance, and a better customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will vary, giving you the opportunity to improve existing processes, negotiate better commercial terms, and build a more efficient and reliable supply chain operation. You'll own the supply chain function end-to-end, from forecasting and purchasing through manufacturing, inventory, and final customer delivery.
- Own the end-to-end supply chain operation, including demand planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, freight, and fulfillment.
- Maintain rolling demand forecasts by SKU and product variant using historical sales trends, subscription renewal demand, planned marketing spend, promotions, and product launches.
- Convert bundles, promotional gifts, and subscription orders into accurate product-level unit requirements while avoiding double-counting demand.
- Establish and maintain reorder points, safety stock levels, and purchasing schedules based on actual supplier lead times and demand variability.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by reconciling sellable stock, allocated inventory, open purchase orders, and inbound shipments.
- Ensure damaged, held, expired, or otherwise unavailable inventory is excluded from sellable stock calculations.
- Own purchase orders, supplier communication, production schedules, and packaging availability.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, production lead times, and other commercial conditions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, freight forwarders, shipping carriers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Identify and develop backup suppliers and alternative sourcing options for critical products, packaging, and components.
- Research, compare, and negotiate better shipping lines, freight forwarders, carriers, routes, and service levels.
- Analyze shipping costs and actual transit performance to identify opportunities to reduce freight expenses and improve customer delivery times.
- Optimize inbound freight, shipping routes, dispatch processes, and fulfillment operations.
- Reduce unnecessary shipping surcharges, failed deliveries, lost shipments, and reshipment costs.
- Monitor 3PL performance and ensure orders are dispatched accurately and within agreed service expectations.
- Ensure bundles, promotional gifts, product variants, and subscription orders are fulfilled correctly.
- Coordinate product specifications, approved label versions, certificates of analysis, testing records, and manufacturer documentation with relevant specialists.
- Maintain lot and expiry traceability, manage stock rotation, and minimize expired or excess inventory.
- Support marketplace verification, product quality investigations, and documentation requests.
- Track landed cost by SKU, shipping cost per order, storage expenses, fulfillment costs, and realized cost savings.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities across manufacturing, packaging, freight, storage, and fulfillment.
- Work with finance to communicate upcoming purchase commitments, supplier payment schedules, and expected cash requirements.
- Coordinate with marketing, retention, customer support, and other teams to ensure inventory and fulfillment readiness for product launches and promotions.
- Provide regular reporting on inventory levels, purchasing commitments, supplier performance, shipping costs, delivery times, and operational risks.
- Identify supply chain bottlenecks and proactively resolve shortages, production delays, shipping disruptions, and fulfillment issues.
- Maintain clear documentation of suppliers, purchase orders, inventory processes, shipping arrangements, and operational procedures.
- Continuously evaluate opportunities to improve supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and increase delivery reliability.
- Optimize parcel dimensions, packaging size, and shipment weight to reduce shipping costs without compromising product protection or delivery quality.
- Evaluate opportunities for inbound freight consolidation to reduce transportation costs and improve shipment efficiency.
- Maintain a prioritized cost-reduction and shipping optimization plan, tracking expected savings, realized savings, implementation progress, and operational impact.
How Success Will Be Measured
Performance will be evaluated using measurable operational and financial indicators, including:
- Verified cost savings in dollars and percentages across manufacturing, freight, storage, and fulfillment.
- Landed cost per SKU and total shipping and fulfillment cost per order, including surcharges and reshipments.
- Median and 90th-percentile order-to-delivery time.
- Dispatch time, carrier transit time, and percentage of orders delivered within the promised delivery window.
- Carrier and 3PL performance, including on-time dispatch, order accuracy, lost or damaged shipments, and failed-delivery rates.
- Core product availability, stockout days, inventory accuracy, excess inventory, and expiry exposure.
- Accuracy of inventory forecasts, purchasing plans, and replenishment schedules.
Performance targets will be agreed upon following the initial supply chain audit.
Cost savings must be verified against actual invoices and operational data, using comparable shipment weights, destinations, service levels, and volumes. Proposed savings must be distinguished from realized savings, and cost reductions must not compromise product quality or delivery reliability.
